“The music was perfect! The Elaine Dame Trio were fabulous - they were EXACTLY what we were looking for. I had (and continue to have) many comments from guests about how spectacular they were. One guest said that she was eating her dinner and heard Norah Jones singing and wondered where Norah was (I had chosen "Come Away with Me"). We had a few musician friends in attendance, and they were VERY complimentary.
DJ Mark Eaton also did a wonderful job. He played the music we requested and added appropriate songs that got people dancing. I had warned him that my guests were not big into dancing, but on several occasions Mark was able to get people out on the dance floor with his music selections. At one point during the evening, I heard a Michael Jackson song playing in the background, along with some ruckus coming from the dance floor. It turns out that my 10-year-old nephew was teaching Paddy and a few of our guests some moves. The most amazing thing is that I was just saying goodbye to my friend Eileen, a very good friend from college, when Mark put on the song "Come on Eileen." Eileen and I ran to the dance floor and she stayed another 15 minutes dancing with me!”

“Everything went smoothly - it was a great day! Both Louise and Chris did a great job. At the end of the ceremony, Louise played "All You Need Is Love." We agreed that once the wedding party processed out, she would sing the song as well as play. Well, her performance inspired others to sing and all of the sudden there was a big chorus of "All you need is love." :)

Chris (our DJ) was amazing! We were impressed by his enthusiasm and the time and effort he placed in getting all the details right — this includes the music, all the names, all the technical sound stuff. He even got out on the dance floor and led the crowd in song and dance. At one point, we looked around and realized that no one was sitting down and everyone was on the dance floor. When does that ever happen at a wedding? We can't tell you how many people told us, "your DJ is awesome!"

From my first phone conversation with Benjie, I was in love with the idea of hiring the Total Package to provide the music for our wedding. Benjie's organization and professionalism put my “bride jitters” to rest, and his passion for the music and performance resonated through the phone.
After a lot of comparison shopping, we felt that Backthird's prices were very reasonable compared to other groups in the Chicago area, especially given the talent and quality of performance we heard on the demo CD.
During the planning process, Benjie was very receptive to our request to have a violin play pop music for our cocktail hour, and even added a cello and piano for a fantastic end result!
Backthird's online planning tools were also incredibly helpful for me. As a “DIY Bride” with no official wedding coordinator, I was responsible for setting the schedule of events for the day, and Backthird's planning tools really brought some of these small details to light.
As the MC, Chris's personality was a perfect mix of enthusiasm and professionalism.
After hearing the final product of The Total Package at our wedding, I can attest that the group is well worth the investment! Our guests loved the mix of classic band and modern DJ, and we feel The Total Package truly offered a song and style for everyone.
Benjie and his musicians and staff really do have it all — professionalism, personality, and extraordinary talent!

Choose Benjie and his services — it takes the guess work out of the entertainment! I would be downplaying my recommendation if I said I suggest with 150% that this service provided by Benjie and Benjie himself were not a sure thing. Benjie was supportive, encouraging and patient and we will have him in our rolodex for the next time we need music at a party or some other function.

Hire the Total Package band! They were easy and helpful to work with. You could tell that they've been doing this for a long time. Everything ran smoothly and our reception was perfect. The band catered to all ages and there were more people dancing than at any other wedding we've been at. The band sounded great and everyone had so much fun!
