“When we entered our venue, the jazz band was playing as cocktails were being served. As my matron of honor told me: It took your breath away. ”
—Nicole & Gabriel, Saltvatore's Ristorante, Chicago, Illinois
Combining Services
Team effort. Great events vary the pace to keep guests interested. This happens when bands, DJs and small ensembles don’t just work – they work together.
Combine band and DJ services because:
- It’s versatile. A band is more engaging than a DJ, but a DJ can take requests and play some songs a band can’t.
- It’s continuous. Receptions are about momentum, and there can't be a break in the action. A band and DJ can trade sets so the music never stops.
- It’s the smoothest ride. A bandleader and DJ who know each other well tag-team for better service. For example: While one performs, the other is assembling the wedding party or comparing agendas with the kitchen.
Combine dance music with small ensembles because:
- It’s interesting. Cocktail and dinner music should be more than “background noise“ – these parts of your party should be set apart with their own mood and feel.
- It’s inviting. When guests see live music as soon as they arrive, an implicit promise is made: Tonight will be extraordinary. Stick around.
- It’s unique. Like the artists themselves, no two live performances are the same. Separate your party from the last one guests attended.
