The Seminars
One jam-packed conference - plus, a mid-week freebie
- Write for the Job – A two-part, half-day seminar that delves into songwriting from the perspective of connecting with audiences. Who do you want to hear your songs – and what do you want them to give you in return? In Part One, we’ll examine the existing markets for songwriters and consider what it means to write for an audience. In Part Two, we’ll get nuts-and-bolts about how to workshop and rewrite songs to better serve your listening audience.
- The Business of Publishing – An overview of the publishing business from a true insider. What do publishers do? What goes in a typical publishing contract? If you’re interested in a publishing deal or self-publishing your own songs, this seminar’s for you. Expect plenty of Q&A at the end of this session.
- Publisher’s Pitch Session – Want to hear an industry insider’s response to your songwriting demo? If you don’t have an agent, this might be your best chance. We play a series of demos for John in front of a live audience, and give him the option to offer feedback – or even take your track with him back to Nashville.
- FREE Bonus Session – We’ll also spend an evening with John at a special meeting of The Guild at 7:30pm Tuesday, September 8. For your invitation, sign up for our e-mail list at www.backthird.com.
- Private Consultation – The top-rated songwriter from our summer series of Songwriter Showcases will spend an hour one-on-one with John during the conference week. Interested? Get details and register right here.
